Enjoy the Silence?

Sorry about the unexplained abscence. My internet was down for a while - the router died and we had to wait for a new one. Also, there has be A LOT going on since I got back from my fabulous birthday trip to Austin.

so a quick run down:

I've been job hunting - but no one has called me back.
I've been asking boys out - but no one has called me back.
but then
all the boys called me back - at once! so i've got like 4 guys that want to go out with me now and only a limited set of evenings to spare. What's the saying? Feast or Famine?

I have to move - the least most wonderful thing in the world. I think I have found a new apt just down the street from me, and the guy who I would live with seems nice...we'll see. Now I get to go through the whole application process and plunk down a HUGE chunk of change and just hope and pray I make the right choice here.

Ok, so that should get your interest up...i have to run...i'll tell you all about it tomorrow.

So, I'ts my birthday. Yay! I'm in Austin, staying at my friend's fabulous new house. I'm on my way to eat some mescan food and recover from all the champagne and other cocktails I drank last night.

It's nice here, the weather is gorgeous. I can't wait to see my Austin friends. (I can't wait to see all my blogger friends too, but we'll have to schedule that.)

Hopefully I'll get some good photo ops and have some fun stories to tell. I'll keep y'all up dated.

Conversation at Borders Books today..

while doing some birthday shopping:

Clerk: "May I see your I.D. Mr. Voelkel, it says "see id" on the back of your card.

Me: "Yes of course. You know, I've been shopping all day and your the first person to ask to see my I.D. Thank you."

Clerk: "Well, we tend to read in this store."

Anyway, one year ago today I was down on the floor of apartment packing up memories, preparing for a new beginning and a new journey that I prayed you would make happen; and it did.

Thanks for that.

So today I am again praying and packing. I'm preparing for a visit home, with a few less pounds and a lot more wisdom under my belt - once again, thanks for that.

Oh yeah, and I'm going to be another year older on Thursday.

This past year has been a wild ride, full of challenges and lessons learned and great expierences. So now, God, if you have a moment, I could once again use some guidance.

Bascially, i'd love it if you could just help me with a question I've had for a while.

What the hell am I supposed to be doing with my life?
